Sundance London Short Film Competition – The Time Is Now
Entries are now open for the Sundance London Short Film Competition.
Based around the concept of time, in reference to the Festival’s Greenwich location, the home of Greenwich Mean Time, we’re inviting UK filmmakers to submit their interpretation of ‘The Time Is Now; a story that is about being immediate and in the moment’ in any way they choose.
In partnership with Greenwich Council and Ravensbourne College of Design and Technology, and with guidance from Sundance London, a small team of Ravensbourne students have been selected to manage and administer the competition.
A panel of respected judges will convene to select a shortlist of 25 films. A further panel made up of Sundance Institute representatives, including Festival Director John Cooper will judge the shortlisted finalists.
The films are to be between 3 and 5 minutes in length and can be a documentary, animation, live action, comedy, drama or any other preferred format or genre.
The winning entry will screen as part of the Sundance London film programme and its filmmaker will win a luxurious 3-night stay at London’s 5-star Langham Hotel. Additional prizes to be announced.
“In our first year of Sundance London I was personally amazed and encouraged by the high quality level of entries we received for this competition. I watch hundreds of films a year so I think that’s saying something!”
John Cooper, Director Sundance Film Festival
